Evan is Evan Nicole Bell's self-titled sophomore album, and her most complete artistic statement yet. Where her debut, Shades of Blue, introduced her voice, Evan widens the frame, moving into a more expansive Americana sound. Bell wrote, arranged, produced, and mixed the album herself, playing every instrument and even stepping behind the drum kit for the first time, making this record entirely her own from the ground up.

Across the album, Bell draws from the full breadth of American roots music: the psychedelic soul of "Evan's Interlude," the smoldering, Etta James-inspired blues-rock ballad "That Night in November," and the dark Americana of "Southern Gothic," steeped in pedal steel and Alabama dirt-road imagery. "The World's Greatest Troubadour (A Song for Todd)" pays tribute to Bell’s late friend and folk songwriter Todd Snider, while "Oh Mama" nods to Jolene, one of country music's most iconic characters.
